Pitt Street

Number 2

A substantial back to brick refurb was carried out on this 3 story mill cottage.  The vision for this property was to create a modern, sleek home while taking advantage of the natural curves and character of this 100-year old building.

The refurbishment included:

  • New front and rear doors
  • Damp proofing and tanking
  • Re-roof
  • Rewire
  • New boiler, pipework and radiators
  • Plastering throughout
  • New woodwork and doors
  • New kitchen
  • New bathroom
  • New floors and carpets throughout

The story

Like a lot of the area, the houses on Pitt street are old mill cottages. The property was in need of a full rip out including damp repairs through the lower ground floor and re-roofing. The property had Artex ceilings, electric radiators, open fireplaces and not a straight edge to be seen.

After a lengthy 6-month renovation, with a few complications, the property turned out perfectly. The modern moodier internal styling is in contrast to the tradition look of the building but works well with the lines and features of the property.

The property was put up for rent, enquiry made the same day, viewing the following day and agreed the day after.
